Who should attend SEDS?

SEDS isopen only to those suffering from an eating disorder irrespective of their stage of recovery or those who suspect they might be going through (Survivors); or the family, friends and partners supporting someone with the issue (Supporters).

Who conducts SEDS?

SEDS meetings are facilitated by professional staff from Singapore Association for Mental Health (SAMH) and Singapore General Hospital (SGH).

What happens at an SEDS session?

At the beginning, there would be a brief educational talk or sharing on topics related to eating disorders. Subsequently, participants will go into their respective group sharing sessions. Note that there are separate groups for survivors and supporters. The entire session might be around one and a half hours.

Where can someone seek treatment for an eating disorder?

Treatment for eating disorders is usually more effective when conducted by professionals with specialized experience treating eating disorders. SGH houses one of the main treatment centres in Singapore through its Eating Disorders Programme (Click here through link.)
