Job Description
To oversee employment services and lead the job coach team in the delivery of quality employment programmes and support to clients and employers.
Key Responsibilities:
• Design structure and process, develop plans and strategies for effective delivery of employment services
• Carry a caseload of maximum 30 cases to support, guide & coach MLH’s clients (people in recovery or in distress from mental health conditions) in their vocational rehabilitation and to prepare them for job readiness
• Conduct intake interview to assess clients’ functional readiness and motivation for enrolment in vocational training, and/or working with clients to find, seek and get as well as sustain in employment
• Administer competency assessment on clients’ skills and abilities and feedback to them on their strengths and areas for improvement
• Conduct periodic review the progress of the work plans against the expected outcomes and make suggestion/s on revision of plans
• Maintain, collate and analyse data in preparation for reporting to Management & funders
• Plan and execute outreach with the job coaches to potential employers, fostering working relationships that will lead to employment or external traineeship opportunities for MLH clients
• Provide post-job support to the employers & MLH clients and address work-related issues arising at workplaces by MLH clients
• Develop mental health knowledge to facilitate in training and workshops to raise awareness and promote inclusive employment practices to the employers
• Develop capacity and capabilities of the employment services team to provide consultancy and advisory to government and employers in promoting mental well-being, embracing diversity and inclusivity in the human resource practices and building a mental health friendly workplace
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in human resource management, psychology or related field is preferred
• Proven experience in job coaching and staff supervision. Those with experience working with persons with special needs or mental health issues will have an added advantage
• Good initiative and strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Good communication skills and ability to facilitate employability workshops to groups of employers
• Able to work in a multi-disciplinary team and a team player
• Able to travel to offsite work locations, ie. employer work sites, with possibility of more than 1 location a day
