Senior Counsellor at Insight Centre

Duties of a mental health counsellor include conducting mental health assessments, developing individualized treatment plans, leading individual or group therapy sessions, running preventative mental wellness classes or workshops and making treatment referrals.

Responsibilities

• Support Head Counselling Services in ensuring services are able to meet the changing needs of the clientele served
• Recommend, initiate and implement processes/projects beneficial in developing and enhancing service delivery
• Update/revise Standards of Operating Procedures on regular basis
• Provide counselling (hybrid approach) to people with mental health issues.
• Engage, support and equip caregivers in supporting their family members with mental health issues
• Provide information on mental health matters and emotional support through the helpline and email
• Ensure right siting of resources for clients with complex needs
• Ensure that team maintain updated records of clients.
• Responsible for proper maintenance, collation and submission of statistical reports, and ensure accuracy of data.
• Conduct training and deliver talks to colleagues and external agencies
• Main coordinator for volunteer/intern counsellors
• Supervise team of counsellors/volunteers/interns
• Any other duties assigned by Agency

Requirements:

• Masters in Counselling
• Keen interest in working with persons with mental health issues
• At least 7 years of counselling experience with 3 years in managerial role
• Preferably able to conduct counselling in English and in another language
• Candidates with experience in mental health sector will be an added advantage
