Senior Case Worker/Case Worker At Oasis Day Centre

SAMH manages the Oasis Day Centre (ODC) where psychiatric rehabilitation programmes are conducted for people in recovery of mental illness or dual diagnosis (i.e., mild developmental disorders and mental illness). The main objective is to optimise clients’ level of function in the community, so as to cultivate independence, enhance interpersonal skills, and improve job readiness.

Key responsibilities in client management:

  • Receive referrals and arrange for intake interview with client/caregiver
  • Work with team to formulate client’s goals, in partnership with client and/or family
  • Provide intervention and support to facilitate clients’ attainment of goals
  • Provide psycoeducation training for caregivers, volunteers and peers
  • Conduct home visits and accompany clients to hospital admissions, appointments, job interviews where necessary

Key responsibilities in rehabilitation:

  • Conduct groupwork, psychoeducation workshops and other therapeutic sessions for clients
  • Work out step-by-step instruction for volunteer/peers to carry out intervention
  • Co-plan and review programme/activities for the month with programme coordinator
  • Support/review group work/activities including budgeting, ADL, IADL etc

Key responsibilities in administrative duties:

  • Prepare social reports, write incident reports, case recordings
  • Ensure proper upkeeping of clients’ records and database
  • Compile and report statistics to various stakeholders
  • Assist in SAMH events and deliver talks/workshops to external parties
  • Other administrative and support duties assign


  • Degree in Psychology/Social work/Occupational Therapy/Counselling
  • At least 2 years of relevant work experience
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Patient, positive and passionate on helping people with special needs
  • Able to work independently as well as in a team
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office 365 and other applications such as Zoom and Social Media
  • Prior working experience in the social services sector will have an advantage
