Psychologist at SAMH YouthReach

YouthReach provides psychosocial support and recovery programmes for youths with emotional, psychological and psychiatric issues in the community. Our staff work with youths and their families to empower them to achieve their goals and live in a safe, caring, and inclusive community.


To promote mental wellness, positive and healthy behaviours, thereby improving youths’ quality of life. Conducting psychological assessments on youth with mild and moderate mental health concerns. To provide therapy, counselling, case management, service linkage and coordination in support of youth with and family in the community.

Core Duties:

  • Conduct psychological assessments for intake of youth referred to the programme
  • Provide youth assessed to be requiring therapeutic interventions with therapy, and counselling to support youth in coping with emotional difficulties
  • Provide psychoeducation to youth and caregiver to learn to better manage mental health concerns, and crisis preparation and safety planning
  • Develop and formulate individual and family support plan for enhancement of the youth and family functional capabilities
  • Work collaboratively with family and community partners to support Reintegration of youth and family into community
  • Participate in internal as well as external case conference with community agencies, i.e. hospitals, schools and social service agencies as needed
  • Provide after office hours support to youth, and caregivers as and when the need arises
  • Maintaining of progress notes, reports on youths’ progress and review of goals and performance at 6 monthly intervals and maintain audit ready files
  • Conduct talks, facilitate public forums and outreach events as necessary
  • To carry out any other duties as assigned by the agency


  • Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology
  • Experience working in mental health setting preferred
  • Patient and passionate about working in social service and with persons of different needs
  • Strong interest to work with youth and their family
  • Ability to work in a team and possess good communication skills
  • Responsible and have good time management skill
  • Ability to adapt to changes and take on extra work scopes
