Job Description
To provide support, guidance, coaching and supervision of Persons-In-Recovery (PIR) in vocational training. To undertake coaching and monitoring of progress of PIRs in traineeship, job trial, On the Job training (OJT) or employment.
This job will also require you to work closely with training staff and caseworkers in developing socio-emotional resilience in PIRs for skills development, motivation and readiness for employment & job sustenance.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Assess the strengths of PIRs and teach them to use them effectively.
• Assist and guide PIRs in learning to discover and overcome barriers and setting goals, to complete job tasks.
• Help PIRs to develop motivation, social and life skills.
• Provide job coaching in employability hard and soft skills and develop employment plans.
• Advocate for an inclusive work environment
• To maintain proper documentation of assessment, progress of PIRs under traineeship, OJT or employment
• To actively follow up with communications with employers and address issues / concerns with regards to the performance of PIRs at work
• Work closely with the multi-disciplinary team to assess PIRs’ readiness for employment.
REQUIREMENTS
• Min. GCE “O’ level, higher NITEC or diploma level.
• Possess passion to work within the social service sector and patience in imparting knowledge and skills, prior experience in training or coaching would be an added advantage.
• Open to continuous learning on ways to work with and train people with mental health issues or different special needs
• Possess strong interpersonal skills and ability to engage jobseekers, network and work across boundaries to foster greater partnerships and collaboration.
• Willing to work in Jurong
• Able to travel to offsite work locations, ie. employer work sites, with possibility of more than one location a day
