Head/Deputy Head/Programme Lead, Oasis Day Centre

SAMH manages the Oasis Day Centre (ODC) where psychiatric rehabilitation programmes are conducted for people in recovery of mental illness or dual diagnosis (i.e., mild developmental disorders and mental illness). The main objective is to optimise clients’ level of function in the community, so as to cultivate independence, enhance interpersonal skills, and improve job readiness.

As a Head/Deputy Head/Programme Lead for Oasis Day Centre, the appointee will oversee the centre and be responsible for ensuring effective and efficient running of the programmes in the centre and lead a team in supporting our clients’ recovery.

Key responsibilities :

  • To lead a team to ensure smooth running of the Centre/Programme
  • To ensure proper co-ordination with other SAMH programmes
  • To ensure proper maintenance, collation and submission of statistics to internal/external parties (e.g. NCSS, MOH or other funding bodies) as required
  • To prepare proposals, reports budget and letters for review by funders or any other agencies as and when required
  • To mentor and orientate new hire
  • To review programme on a yearly basis and put up proposal for enhancement of programme
  • To network and collaborate with other agencies to stay current of mental health landscape
  • To conduct and/or participate in research projects related to mental health, internally or at a national level
  • To review and recommend staff for suitable training
  • To manage staff performance and ensure overall service delivery aligns with organization vision, mission and values
  • To conduct annual performance appraisal and quarterly check-in with staff
  • To conduct training programme for volunteers & staff as relevant/required
  • To conduct external talks and training workshops as assigned by Community Education & Engagement programme
  • Oversee volunteer management within programme
  • Other ad-hoc duties as assigned

Requirements :

  • Minimum bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counselling, or Sociology
  • At least 5 years of experience in social service/mental health field with at least 2 year in managerial or supervisory role
  • Have good verbal and written communication
  • Demonstrate critical thinking and good problem-solving skills
  • Able to lead multidisciplinary team
  • Good time management and training/public speaking skills
  • Have passion for developing networking and professional relationships
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office 365 and other internet applications such as Zoom and social media
  • Applicants who have prior work experience with the centre operations will have an added advantage
