Head/Deputy Head/Programme Lead at SAMH Group Homes

Group Homes is an independent living facility for people with mental health conditions who have a desire to be gainfully employed, develop communal living and independent living skills, as well as strengthen their ability to integrate into the community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and develop case management staff in clinical skills as well as enhance proficiency of all staff in their assigned roles.
  • Guide Operations Executive in coming up with SOPs for the smooth-running of SAMH Group Homes’ operations.
  • Ensure that KPIs set by funders are achieved and plan for programme’s growth to adapt to changing trends and needs.
  • Build up team spirit and ensure that team culture is aligned with agency’s goals and directions. Manage staff’s relational and disciplinary issues when required.

Supervisory Role

  • Lead a team of clinical staff to ensure smooth running of the centre programme.
  • Ensure proper co-ordination for the care for clients recovering from mental illness.
  • Provide supervision to clinical staff in counseling and case management support to clients.
  • Responsible for proper maintenance, collation and submission of statistics to funding bodies and management as required.
  • Provide staff supervision and facilitate the development of staff’s growth with agency.
  • Guide and supervise students who are on practicum/internship.
  • Prepare periodic reports for submission to management and external agency and annual reports.
  • Mentor and orientate newly-recruited staff. 

Training

  • Review and recommend staff for suitable training.
  • Conduct training programmes for volunteers, clients and staff.
  • Conduct external training on mental health.

Others

  • Network and collaborate with other agencies when required to garner opportunities and resources for agency’s growth and clients’ needs.
  • Prepare proposals, reports budget and letters for review by funders or any other agencies as and when required.
  • Put up proposal for the enhancement of programme and to improve service delivery for people with mental illness.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the organisation, which at times may require to work beyond normal work schedule.
  • Conduct & participate in research projects with particular focus on mental health. 

Requirements 

·       At least 5 years of experience in social service or mental health setting, preferably in social work or counselling work in a residential setting, with some years in a supervisory role.

·       Effective communication and strong interpersonal skills, able to communicate in English and Mandarin.

·       Able to lead a multi-disciplinary team to deliver quality services to clients.
