Deputy Head / Head at SAY IT!

SAMH SAY-IT! (Sports, Arts, Youth Integrated Team) provides assessment and intervention for youths, and engages youths for ongoing monitoring and support. YIT also works actively with youth agencies, schools and community partners to provide holistic case management for youths and their families.

Key Responsibilities of Deputy Head / Head:

  • Participate in workplan meetings with interagency taskforces, SAMH Board/Executive and external stakeholders to work on strategic direction of service
  • Represent and advocate for SAMH and SAMH SAY-IT! in network meetings, conferences, talks, workshops and events
  • Ensure integrity and accountability of KPIs and ensure timely reporting to funders
  • Oversee centre operations, manpower deployment and movement
  • Build staff capability, and provide supervision and coaching to staff for their career progression
  • Provide holistic care for youths via mental health assessment and intervention, as well as work with their families and systems

Educational/professional qualifications

  • Minimum a degree or Masters in Psychology/ Social Work or related discipline
  • Leadership certification courses

 Preferred to Have

  • Background in youth work, programme management, learning and people development, social work or service, psychology, case management is advantageous
  • Possess good understanding of or experience working with persons with mental health issues
  • Possess good knowledge of assessment tools and clinical intervention skills
  • Prior leadership experience in managing a team
  • Strong collaborative and partnership skills
  • Relevant work experience & no. of years
  • Minimum 6-8 years in social service (preferably youth work)
  • 3 years of experience in a supervisory role
