Deputy Head/Head, MINDSET Learning Hub

MINDSET Learning Hub (MLH) is a collaboration between the Jardine Matheson Group of companies MINDSET Care Limited and the Singapore Association for Mental Health (SAMH). MLH aims to provide Workforce Skills Qualifications (WSQ) training and employment placement, in industries such as cleaning, food and beverage, hospitality, healthcare support and retail, for Persons-In-Recovery.

Purpose:

If you have a passion to serve the community, this is a job for you. As a Head/Deputy Head for MINDSET Learning Hub, the appointee will oversee MINDSET Learning Hub and be responsible for ensuring effective and efficient running of the vocational rehabilitation programme in the centre and lead a team in supporting persons-in-recovery through case management, skills coaching and training, leading to employment placements.

Key responsibilities for Centre Operations:

  • Provide supervision on the daily operations of the centre (training centre with a café) eg ensure efficient daily manpower deployment
  • Manage centre budget and expenses and maintain good records for audit and analysis purposes
  • Oversee and maintain good tracking and data management for the programme
  • Develop and maintain administrative and finance-related processes

Key responsibilities for Training and Training Management:

  • Plan and derive learning activities in life skills, employability skills and work skills
  • Develop and continuously review MLH’s Traineeship Programmes, classroom, virtual, and online learning programmes to ensure learning retention and skills application of enrolled clients.
  • Deliver classroom and online learning sessions to enrolled clients in the areas of illness management, employability, work and social skills.

Key responsibilities for Funder and Management Reporting:

  • Policy planning and service review to ensure programme relevance and currency.
  • Analyse monthly stats for trends and to prepare presentations to the management, funders and other stakeholders.
  • Formulate proposals to support funding applications
  • Present and advocate MINDSET Learning Hub services and objectives to funders, hospitals, community partners and other stakeholders.

Key responsibilities for Outreach and Engagements:

  • Represent SAMH and MINDSET Learning Hub professionally in the presentation of the association and the programme objectives and services in centre visits and external engagements.
  • Engage, educate and enrol existing and potential employers in different sectors on mental health awareness, job redesign and job creations for persons-in-recovery.
  • Formulate plans to organise in-centre networking and engagement events for enrolled clients and for community partners to drive centre presence within the constituency.

Key responsibilities for Client and Case Management:

  • Screen and filter incoming enquiries, and establish contact with referral agencies to determine suitability of clients to be enrolled with MINDSET Learning Hub services.
  • Assign cases to team and support team in the formulation of individualised plans for enrolled clients through case discussions.

Requirements:

  • Minimum Degree in any discipline
  • 4 – 7 years of managerial experience in supervising centre or programme operations is preferred.
  • Background in programme management, learning and people development, social work or service, psychology, case management is advantageous.
  • Possess strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experience in mental health or social service organization will be an added advantage
  • Willing to work in centre (Jurong) and off-site.
  • Willing to work on some weekends, when required.
