Deputy Head, GH

This position reports to the Executive Director.

Key Responsibilities:

A.  Supervisory Role

  1. Lead a team of clinical staff to ensure smooth running of the centre’s programme.
  2. Ensure proper co-ordination for the care for clients recovering from mental illness:
  • Counselling  and Support;
  • Case Management.

3.  Responsible for proper maintenance, collation and submission of statistics to funding bodies as required

4. Guide and supervise clinical staff

5. Guide and supervise students who are on practicum / internship

6. Prepare periodic reports for submission to management, external agencies and annual reports

7. Mentor and orientate newly-recruited staff

B.  Training

  1. Review and recommend staff for suitable training.
  2. Conduct training programme for volunteers, junior staff and new staff
  3. Conduct external training on mental health

C.  Others

  1. Network and collaborate with other agencies
  2. Prepare proposals, reports, budget and letters for review by funders or any other agencies as and when required
  3. Put up proposals for the enhancement of the programs and to improve service delivery for people with mental illness
  4. Deliver lecture and talks on mental health as and when required
  5. Perform other duties as assigned by the organization, which at times may require to work beyond normal work schedule.
  6. Conduct & participate in research projects with particular focus on mental health

Pre-Requisites

  • Bachelor Degree in Psychology or Social Work or Counselling
  • Prior experience in mental health or special education
  • At least 5 years of experience in social service or mental health setting, preferably in social work, psychology or counselling role, with some years in supervisory role
  • Effective communication skills, able to communicate in English and Mandarin
  • Able to lead a multi-disciplinary team to deliver quality services to clients
