Café Supervisor at SAMH MINDSET Learning Hub

MINDSET Learning Hub (MLH) is a collaboration between the Jardine Matheson Group of companies MINDSET Care Limited and the Singapore Association for Mental Health (SAMH). MLH aims to provide training and employment placement, in industries such as cleaning, food and beverage, and retail, for Persons-In-Recovery.

Job Description:

  • To handle full spectrum of operations that pertain to an F&B establishment from purchasing inventory to food preparation and service
  • To provide training and coaching to persons in recovery from mental health conditions in the areas of F&B housekeeping, service delivery, food preparation and service recovery
  • To provide and lead the direction of café progress with consult from Programme Head, MLH

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with caseworkers and operations team on training persons recovering from mental illness in the roles of service staff and kitchen crew
  • Responsible for all aspects of café operations – service delivery, food preparations, rostering and allowance disbursements and housekeeping
  • Manage café expenses and inventory, daily cash sales and monthly reporting
  • Maintain food hygiene compliance and practices in accordance with Singapore Food Agency policies and guidelines of SAMH
  • Assist in maintaining café operations SOP
  • Responsible of delivering good customer service experience

Requirements:

  • Possess passion to work within the social service sector and patience in imparting knowledge and skills, prior experience in training or coaching would be a plus
  • Open to continuous learning on ways to work with and train people with mental health issues or different special needs in the domain of F&B operations
  • Min. GCE O’ Levels with relevant and valid F&B certifications and at least 1 year of supervisory experience in an F&B establishment
  • Good knowledge in Microsoft Excel and Word
